Why Amateur Porn is Better

I’m an actor and a model. I star in gay adult films. I remember after my first shoot, my director said to me you should start an Only Fans and a Twitter as good marketing. (It was mostly for him to sell the films.) I remember being perplexed about posting adult content to Twitter and having absolutely no idea what Only Fans was! I’m also a web developer by day so, being more familiar with Twitter, I went that route. So, I started making amateur homemade porn and posting it to my Twitter account.

Yes, you can post adult content to Twitter as long as, of course, you mark your account as NSFW. I found having hot sex and posting videos of it along with a certain amount of d*ck pics for everyone to see was actually pretty fun. So it was only a matter of time that I used my web developer skills to make my own platform called Mojo Men for doing so.

I was now, not only fascinated by sex as I always have been but a part of various gay, sex, and porn communities. I started interacting with other actors both professional and amateur. I acted in high-end porn as well as fun one-offs with other guys interested in making Twitter vids. And, I got to have virtual conversations with people on the app that I had designed. I found myself, more and more fascinated with the idea of amateur porn. Here are a few of my conclusions from the conversations I’ve had.

Connection

Passion and connection are a real turn on. Often people don’t think of the circumstances, the real-life arrangement between two male-identifying people that come together to f*ck on camera. One of which is having a third party arrange the meet by enticing them with money or some other reward. And the other is for them to naturally meet and mutually make the decision to shoot the film. One is considered high-end or high-budget and the other is self-made amateur porn. Which is better? Well, even though we might not always think about it, the mere fact that, in high-end porn, the couple or group is being paid to be together. Therefore it’s possible, perhaps even likely, that there is no connection being that there is no real desire to be together. They can fake it if they get paid, but it ends there. So, it would seem, that amateur porn is better because there is a genuine connection between the two models.

The “Real”

“Realness” and voyeurism are also key to a successful orgasm. When talking about how real a video is can be ambiguous. High-end porn is designed to look like the actors are in the room but don’t know you’re there. It’s made to look like they genuinely ran into each other in real life with storylines and acting. Amateur porn isn’t designed to look real at all because it is the candidness that lets the viewer know it is happening in real life. These people or this person actually did the act. However, most people that I talk to say they prefer the realness of the latter. Firstly, they want it to seem real, and the connection and bloopers send that message. Even the direct gaze at the camera, even if occasional, let the viewer know that they’re not being told what to do. This is a genuine desire to have sex and get off knowing the whole world can see.

Being in the Twitter communities that I am I’ve seen, over the years, amateur porn explode into popularity. These videos are becoming popular because they seem more passionate, more connected, and more scandalous. People seem to like the real, however much realness a television screen or computer monitor can offer. But it is the realness of amateur porn that makes it more desirable.

These are, of course, just things I put together from conversations and experiences I’ve had. I’d love to hear more about what you personally find interesting or sexy about amateur gay porn on Twitter, PornHub, or wherever you find it. Feel free to email me at hello@mojomen.app.
